Hot Spot Printing has some of the best mailing software available. Per postal regulations, it is updated every other month with the latest changes and the current USPS database information. Some of the forms required for a 3,500 piece mailing are shown on the left. Our software generates these completed forms for each mailing. It seems like each year, mailng becomes more complex. Until recently, the software only had to confirm that an address was in the standard acceptable format. Recently, DPV (delivery point validation) became a requirement. DPV helps identify erroneous addresses and reduce the amount of mail that is undeliverable because an address doesn't exist. In the future, it will be necessary for mailing software to also be able to confirm that the person or business to whom the mail piece is addressed is, in fact, at that mailing address. This is another way to decrease undeliverable mail. |
One of the benefits of mailing with Pre-sorted Standard Mail is lower cost. First class postage is generally 70% to 80% more than Standard Mail. And, in areas like Morgan Hill, Gilroy, San Jose, etc. Standard Mail generally arrives in one or two days. Preparing a mailing to take advantage of all of the pre-sorting and automation discounts is a daunting task for the uninitiated and unequipped. Hot Spot Printing can usually save a client enough money on postage to more than pay for our mailing services. And, that doesn't take into account.... We have equipment on hand for tabbing, labeling and direct impression addressing of envelopes and postcards. Using our DocuTech 75 printers with their Variable Information Postscript Printing ability lets us do variable data mailings from your database. Hot Spot Printing maintains a standard mail permit which we make available to our printing and mailing customers at no charge. The initial cost of such a permit is over $300 and the annual fee is over $150. |

Some mailings require that we stuff one, two or more pieces in an envelope and seal it. Our primary labor source for doing this kind of hand work is our local community of senior citizens. Over that past years, we have found them to be reliable, sharp and wanting to work. In fact, they seem to get really excited when we call to ask them if they can come in and help with a mailing. How refreshing! If you are interested, or know someone who would like to put their name on our list of temporary help for mailing projects, just give us a call at (408) 778-3635, or send us an email. |
